EN ATTENDANT GODOT (Waiting for Godot, literally: While Waiting for Godot), was written in french in 1949 and published in 1952. A few years later it was published in English in 1954 or 1955.
The play in two acts is about eptyness. Short summary: Nothing happens. Twice. Main charcters, Vladimir and Estragon wait by the road for Godot, who do not arrive.
Estragon: Let's go.
Vladimir: We can't.
Estragon: Why not?
Vladimir: We're waiting for Godot.
Estragon: (despairingly). Ah!
